On Saturday night, Las 3 Divas - Shelly Lares, Stefani Montiel and Elida Reyna - brought their Latin Grammy-nominated sound to Rincon Norteno.

Earlier this year the three legendary performers formed Las 3 Divas. Their debut album "Las 3 Divas" is earning rave reviews, plenty of airtime and critical acclaim.

The Divas' music - a mixture of cumbia, rock, tejano and a little twang - is at the same time cutting edge and familiar.

The Divas began with their now signature "La Cumbia Del Oeste," and the patrons started carving out some dancing room in the packed venue.

A throng of people at least 30 deep stood in front of the small intimate stage and the party commenced. The close proximity between the performers and their fans generated heat as the two groups fed of one another.
The Divas' second song revealed just how well these superstars have adapted to sharing the stage.

Montiel showcased her vocal range and sultry sounds, while Lares and Reyna played the roles of backup vocalists and dancers.

Next, Lares stepped up and the Divas showed why they were all dressed to rock as Lares thrilled one and all.
As Lares receded into the background, cumbia sounds signaled the beginning of a whole lot of handshaking and dancing as Reyna took the lead and everyone followed.

Reyna, renowned for her sweet nature, had the front row fans swooning and the intimacy level went up a notch.

Lares summed up the mutual attraction by shouting out, "We love Lubbock because here tejano music is real. It is alive and well!"

Then she introduced Montiel and "Slip-n-Slide." Montiel is
