After many hugs and kisses we went in to rest for a few before taking off for Hastings for shopping. A chinese supper followed then to Wally World for more shopping. Got home
about 9 had apple pie and coffee. Then into our cool camper to sleep.

Marie's Story:

Hi all! We crossed the border between the States and Canada about 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning. Got on 96 and drove and drove till Patsi and Garnet had to make a pit stop at the rest area. Then it was off to find a restraunt about 25 miles from Lansing. Patsi had her Belguim waffles and my favorite biscuits and gravy; Garnet had sausage and eggs. Then on the road again to Ruth and Georges.

The next morning George made us breakfast pizza. Was real good. Now we are on our way to Frankenmuth to the Christmas town. We got to Bonners and went on a site seeing tour. It is a lot bigger then when I was last there. Patsi had never been there so all was exciting to her. All of us really enjoyed our day there. Got a few Christmas presents. Then on the
way home stopped at another restaurant(seems we ate all week end). Then back to Ruths and Georges for lemon pie but all were to full to eat.

So headed for our beds again so we could be in shape to travel home.That is after Ruth and George made pancakes with bacon and sausage. Then after a long sad goodbye we were off for home. Got here about 1:20 and had to wash and dress to go to the Legion as Patsi and Garnet received their 5 year pins. Thats all from this trip. Until the next one. Luv Marie

Friday afternoon Garnet, Marie and Patsi Duquette from Tilbury, Ontario arrived at 12:30 and after much hugging and kisses we all sat down in the living room and visited with one another.

Then about 4:00 we went into Hastings to do some shopping at the Family Dollar store and then went to supper at Chinese Buffet. I introduce the Duquette's to the owner of the Chinese Buffet Way Lin (aka Becky) and we had a very pleasant visit with her. Marie gave Becky (who is from Hong Kong China) a Canadian dollar and two dollar coin. Becky said she was going to put them her kids piggy banks.

After a wonderful supper we went to the Super Wal-Mart in Charlotte and did some more shopping. We got back to our place at 9:00 did some more visiting and watch a little TV and then all were off to bed.

Saturday morning arrive with a wonderful sunny day for our trip to Frankenmuth. George fix us a breakfast of breakfast pizzas.

While we were waiting for breakfast
Marie, Patsi and I went to my computer
and talk to friends from the Circle.
Sharon, Daphne, Pat and Doreen were
just a few who were on that morning.

After we were called
to breakfast we got
a surprise call from
Sharon.

We all then piled into our car and headed for Frankenmuth. We left at 10:00 and arrive at Bonner's in Frankenmuth at about 12:30.

Garnet, Marie, George and I had been
to Bonner's before but our Patsi had
never been and she was like a little
girl in a candy shop. She love it!!
So did all of us as it had changed
since George and I had been there
four years before.

Bonner's is the largest
Christmas store in Michigan
and it has every thing under
the sun to do with Christmas.
This Saturday was no different
it was packed with shoppers.
You couldn't help being pushed
and shoved as that was how busy
it was. We were in Bonner's
till around 4:00 and then headed
back for our place.

All came away
with some wonderful
treasures. We
stopped in a little
town about 40 miles
from our home called
Sheridan and had
supper in a cafe there.
We had the pleasure of
meeting the owner and
Patsi, Marie and I told
her about our friendship
and how we met. She was
so interested we gave her
our email addresses and
she hers. We arrived
back at our house around
9:00.

All were tired but Patsi and were still really wound up from our day, after Marie, Garnet, Scamper and George went to bed Patsi and I sit up and watch a movie the new movie Looking for Nemo and then we both went to bed.

Sunday morning we all got up around 8:00. George and I make breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and sausage. Patsi had told me that her mom was hankering for some pancakes so that's what we fixed. All were stuff when we finished breakfast. Shortly after that every one got ready to leave for home. We were so sad to see them go. It was such a short week-end for all.

Can't wait till our next visit. We had such a great time doing things together. It was such a wonderful treat to see Garnet looking so healthy after all he had been through with his heart surgery. We all know so much about our Marie and Patsi but don't hear much from Garnet. Well girls I will say he is a very witty man and he lots of fun to be around. I call him Dad or Pops and Marie Mom and they both make me and George feel like we were their kids and they had come home to visit. I can't wait for all of you to meet them in July 2004 they are wonderful people and your going to fall in love with them just like I have. Thus this ended our wonderful week-end!
