Ngo Cho Kun
Five Ancestor Fist
Vancouver Canada
In memory and honor of my late Sifu Lo King Hui for his passion, dedication and loyalty to the Five Ancestor Fist, his devotion and hard work in making ngo cho kun an outstanding martial art. A true traditionalist, he trained extensively to become one of a few true ngo cho kun fighter to understand and achieved the five power principle, which involves the use of the legs, hips, shoulder, arms and fist in combination with control breathing that can transmit power and generate energy to be deliver in a penetrating-explosive strike at a target.

He has powerful forearm and excellent grip and has a strong neck muscles that allows him to withstand blows to the neck. He was an expert and a reputable herbalist and bone setter a training he got from his father the late Dr. Lo Yan Chu.

Master Lo King Hui also runs a clinic and he would usually provide charitable treatment to those who are less fortunate but most of all, he would see to it that all his students train hard and if they get injured he would be there to treat them at no extra cost.

Master Lo King Hui was instrumental in organizing and uniting all ngo cho kun families, bringing them together to study, analyze, promote and propagate the true essence of traditional Chinese kung fu.

Ngo cho kun or wuzuquan in mandarin is widely practiced in Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan. It has its origin in Fujian province China. During the communist take over of China in 1947 many ngo cho kun (wuzuquan) masters about 5 of them (including Dr. Lo Yan Chu father of master Lo King Hui) resettle separately in Southeast Asian countries bringing with them their knowledge and skill of ngo cho kun and eventually continue to teach and promote ngo cho kun to the locals that has become a part of the tradition and culture of their adopted country.

Ngo cho kun involves the combination of the five best fighting styles they are: the white crane for its intricate and simple hand techniques; the monkey fist for its agility, mobility and evasive techniques; the Tai Cho or the grand ancestor fist founded by the emperor of the Sung dynasty this technique involves a system of leg attacks that include high double leg scissor attack and many other leg movements; the lo han boxing which involves boxing techniques and finally the Da Mo breathing technique, the method of iron body training through proper breathing control that helps stimulate and exercise internal organs

In the 1970s during the start of China's reform era to modernize, Master Lo King Hui who have been residing in Manila Philippines since he was 13 years old together with surviving ngo cho kun masters travel back to their respective home town in Fujian province and started a series of working with local ngo cho kun practitioners to help revitalized ngo cho kun and to rebuild the South Shaolin temple consider home of ngo cho kun.

In 1993 in line with China's policy of reestablishing Chinese traditional kung fu, that dream was finally realized, with the birth of the South Shaolin International Wuzuquan (ngo cho kun) Boxing Federation with a modest member of a few dozen countries it has now expanded to more than 20 member nations. In which every year a convention-competition is held to celebrate this great occasion, the bringing together of all ngo cho kun athletes and fans and to discuss new ways of expanding and promoting ngo cho kun to the World.
